Object: NGC 6946 - Fireworks galaxy in Cepheus and Cygnus, magnitude 9.6, distance 18 Mly - 2016-08-10Discovered by: William Herschel 1798 (Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel) Note: Ten supernovas has been observed exploding in this galaxy the last century, hence it got its name.
